Job Description Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in supporting legal processes related to plaintiff medical malpractice cases. This role requires a proactive individual with expertise in litigation and trial preparation. Responsibilities: • Assist in managing plaintiff medical malpractice cases, ensuring all documentation and filings are accurate and timely. • Conduct thorough discovery processes, including gathering and organizing evidence. • Prepare for trials by coordinating schedules, organizing exhibits, and assisting attorneys with trial-related tasks. • Utilize case management software to track case progress, deadlines, and correspondence. • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas under attorney supervision. • Collaborate with attorneys to research case law and prepare legal arguments. • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in the litigation process. • Maintain organized case files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive legal information. • Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements.• Proven experience as a Paralegal, preferably in plaintiff medical malpractice cases. • Strong knowledge of discovery processes and civil litigation procedures. • Proficiency in trial preparation, including coordinating schedules and organizing exhibits. • Familiarity with case management software and other legal tools. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously. • Effective communication skills to interact with attorneys, clients, and court personnel. • A Paralegal certification or relevant legal education is preferred.
